{HUGE sigh of relief}
This craft comes with an announcement.

EEEEEEhhhhkkkkkk—–

greybench7
Just a little project, a bench that I up-cycled…
greybench2
a few layers of paint and some special words—ohhh how I LOVE quotes…
greybench8
and I love it.
greybenchcollage
I used graphite chalk paint.
And then added my quote with my trusty dollar section stamps and my white ink pad.
greybench5
and I think it fits right in with my decor!
greybench9
Anddd in case you didn’t see the “home” related quotes on the bench….
well that is the little hint.
29 days from TODAY I will OWN my very own HOUSE!!!!!
EEEEkkkkHHHHHKKKKKK!!!!
{that was me screaming with CRAZY excitement}
Ohhh I canNOT wait to have you join me on my home ownership journey!!!!
Starting with BEFORE photos coming SOON!!!
PS I am linking up my bench at a few of my favorite parties—check them out for some great inspiration!

My Happy.

We all have things that make us happy.
And I have more than a few.
But this time of the year, my happy is—-lilacs.

Their smell.
Their look.
Their imperfections.

When the flowers are closed.
When their flowers are open.
lilacs9
I love them.
lilacs3
Many times I have dreamt of having a wedding surrounded by lilacs.
lilacs4
I remember cutting them and bringing them to school for my grade school teachers.

They make me happy.

A Table Up-Cycle & DIY Distressing With Ink

Hello blog friends!
I hope you had a WONDERFUL Easter weekend!
I had a little fun up-cycling this weekend!!
It is nice enough for me to start spring cleaning…
and my newest rule is that if I don’t love it as it is and I won’t up-cycled it, I have to get rid of it.
And so that is how this little table got a paint job!
And I came up with a technique of distressing without distressing without sand paper or layers of paint.
DIY Distressing Furniture with Ink via Crafty Scrappy Happy
Yep, I just distressed with ink.
greytable2
and it turns out I really really love this little table now.
greytable3
I am so glad that I didn’t get rid of it!
greytable4
It started out like this—a garage sale find from last year that was completely neglected.
greytable23
All you need to Do it Yourself is:
-Annie Sloan Chalk Paint {Graphite}
-White Ink
-craft sponge
All you do:
Paint your table and let dry.
Use your craft sponge dipped in your white ink to distress by just rubbing along edges of the furniture that you want to highlight.
{I followed these steps by adding a layer of Annie Sloan clear wax to seal the table}
Thats it!

Inspiration Gallery

Happy Thursday sweet blog friends!

First let me tell you, you ARE in the right place… It is link party night, BUT, Lucy, Taryn and I have decided to rename our party–to the Inspiration Gallery instead of Happy Hour.

I think it is the PERFECT name for our party, because I truly do think that each and every link is inspirational, and I appreciate each idea and project that you share with us!

And before I go on with normal party business let me just say, a heartfelt thank you.  You guys have given me the most special week ever.  Sharing my baby news with you has been SO special!  I can’t even begin to tell you how each message left for me has meant so much to me.  I like the idea of going through this experience with each of you.  So one more time for today, thank you.

But, like I have promised, no more baby talk for a little while…. lets focus on those of you who have crafted and shared this week!

DIY Snowman Ornament

Welcome to day two of Christmas crafting here on my blog!  I am SO in love with SIMPLE Christmas crafts that could make sweet gifts or just add a little personal something to my Christmas decor and tree, so my little snowman ornament is just perfect.

craftyscrappyhappy snowman ornamentHe was honestly so simple to make he would be a great craft to do with children of all ages!  I could just imagine the fun Christmas crafting would be with little hands involved!

I am thinking this dapper snowman would make a sweet addition to my Christmas tree or even possibly make a cute gift topper.

 I am thinking the photos are explanatory enough, but if you have questions, by all means ask!!

I used wire and a few beads I had to make the eyes, nose and buttons of my snowman, small twigs for his arms and a little scrap of fabric as his scarf and fastened them all with my hot glue gun.

And that’s it, sweet and simple.  A DIY snowman ornament for any age!

What do you think?  Are you ready to start your Christmas crafting, decorating, shopping and celebrating??  I officially started playing my Christmas music TODAY, so, I say bring it on!!

ps I am linking up to a few of my favorite parties this week, be sure to check them out here!
